The Live-CD is supposed to be used on a read-only media and thus the
upgrade may not fully function even if it is used on a write-able USB
storage. The /usr/sbin/update-initramfs is replaced with a simple shell
script outputting a warning instead of actually performing the desired
operation on a Live-CD, so /etc/initramfs-tools/* are ignored. Please
refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LiveUsbPendrivePersistent for a
persistent installation.
