till, you are right! my ~/.cups/lpoptions mysteriously contained the two-up option... but i can hardly remember where i set it or saw it! just now i tried starting evince and print, and i can't see the two-up being set in evince! what apps will 'see', or recognize that option? guess evince and many other apps just never noticed it but still let it slipped in under the hood
