I'll attempt to re-install it. I am fairly certain that it hung, as I looked
at it, saw that it stopped, said "ok wait," and walked away for several minutes
before hitting <ctrl>c. I need to re-install or upgrade a bunch of gnome libs
anyway to solve another problem I seem to be having. When I open OpenOffice
and begin typing, it does not advance to the next line, but rather jumps back
to the start of the line, and pushes the text along. I am thinking the
installed version of OOfice must be linked to different versions of the gnome
or gtk libs than are actually installed.
I am not sure my apt-get install actually installed anything, though it did try
to pull in a lot of gnome libs.

Thanks for getting back to me.
