Public bug reported:

I burned a copy of the Jaunty LiveCD (ubuntu-9.04-desktop-i386.iso)
using Knoppix 6.0.1. The CD validates in Knoppix using the following
command:

md5sum -c md5sum.txt | grep -vi 'OK$'

The CD also validates using the same command in Windows 2000 using
Cygwin. However, when I boot into Intrepid and run the same command, I
get the following error message:

md5sum: ./casper/filesystem.squashfs: Input/output error
./casper/filesystem.squashfs: FAILED open or read

When I boot the LiveCD and select the "Check disc for defects" option, I
get an error as well ("Errors found in 1 file").

It seems to me that Intrepid/Jaunty are unable to read the CD properly,
despite it being a properly burned CD. My CD drive is the Lite-On LH-
20A1H.
