KVM 1:84+dfsg-0ubuntu11 (Jaunty amd64) has similar symptoms. Once Windows XP is booted the initial sound is heard and audio playback works for some time.
Then, at some moment (10-15 minutes after), the audio stops working while blocking any application that tries to access the audio. The only way to recover the audio is to reboot the virtual machine. The reboot in this audio-locked-up case takes time, as each program that operated on audio device is not exiting voluntarily ("The program is not responding") and must be killed using "End Now" button. There is no messages in dmesg or /var/log/daemon. -- Sound dies on amd64 with WinXP guest https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248628 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
