By the way, in addition to my previous post I would like to add: - Ubuntu 9.10 Jaunty - Blender 2.49a-ubuntu0904-1 (.deb from the official release downloadable from blender.org - the problem did also exist with blender 2.48a+dfsg-1ubuntu3 as shipped with ubuntu and should be resolved there as well)
