Public bug reported: Im using Ubuntu 64 9.10 Karmic and installed Packagekit(0.4.8) from repos and also installed Packagekit-backend-smart. I removed the apt backend to PK to test PK with Smart but now im unable to use it. Add/Remove and Update Manager just does nothing. Software Sources is also unusable and has a checkbox which cannot be checked and next to it, it says "Getting Software Source list not support by backend".
So it seems this somehow fails to see Ubuntu's repos.
