Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sun-java6-bin
ubuntu release: jaunty. Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 after running: apt-get update apt-get dist-upgrade A new version of sun-java6-bin was installed (old version 6-13-1, new 6-14), from this point javaws did not work for the shortcuts on the desktop and via the browser. I also ran it from the command line "javaws -wait webstar.jnlp" and got the following error message: javaws Bad installation. Error invoking Java VM (execv) I tried reinstalling the java package, with no luck. In the end down graded to the previous version( sun-java6-bin 6-13-1) and it worked again. best regards, Peder. ** Affects: sun-java6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- javaws fails to start up properly error msg:javaws Bad installation.
