OK, back to the bug... I had exactly the same problem - I guess that in
writing our scripts we were probably following similar models given in
the Xdialog documentation!

Both of the workarounds work for me, so my scripts work again, which is
great.

But can someone please remember that there does seem to be a bug here,
which is that Xdialog is kicking out these incorrect warnings about an
apparently irrelevant file not existing when it does!
