OK I will check suspension on Karmic next week. You're asking to open new more specific bug report. I opened this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/358357 few months ago which describes in more details what is happening on Intrepid. I tried to follow the kernel team bug policies while doing that report.
