Public bug reported: I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1545. It comes with Windows Vista on it. I wanted to install Ubuntu 9.04 as well on it, so I booted the live cd and started installing it. When I came to part 4, I dragged the pointer to make Ubuntu take up about 140 gb and the vista install to use about 140 gb as well. When I pressed next, it chewed for a while and popped up a error message saying: "An error occured while writing the changes to the storage device. The resize operation have been aborted." I have no idea what caused this and why it doesn't work as expected.
(as a side note, it seems like Ubuntu supports the hardware on this machine really well. Sound, wireless, hardware keys etc. all works out of the box, it's even runs desktop effects from the start on the live cd!) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- cannot install Ubuntu beside Vista on a Dell Inspiron 1545 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405069 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
