I agree that the symptoms are the same as 383670. I discovered that I also had google-calendar-provider installed. Deinstalling that made thunderbird work even with my old profile and lightning-extension. (Actually, reinstalling the calendar-google-provider still works now). I do use a different remote ical file now, don't know if that also cold make a difference.
