Public bug reported: Ever since kernel 2.6.31.x, the touchpad and buttons have not been working. I'm not sure if there was something else that got upgraded at the same time that might have broken it.
It does seem to get detected by my machine, since if I do "sudo rmmod psmouse && sudo modprobe psmouse" I get the following output from dmesg: [ 2509.675173] Synaptics Touchpad, model: 1, fw: 7.2, id: 0x1c0b1, caps: 0xd04771/0xa40000 [ 2509.712093] input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio4/input/input12 I am running on autoconfigured X, there is no xorg.conf with any settings what so ever, just as there was none when the touchpad was working. This is on a Karmic install, fully updated as of right now. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Ever since kernel 2.6.31.x, the touchpad and buttons have not been working.
