I'm having this issue too. I did a reinstall of jaunty, to change from i386 to amd64. The amd64 iwlagn driver was corrupting my ext3 filesystems until I installed the backports modules. Now I have this issue.
I am using a thinkpad sl500, using the intel 5100 wireless card.
