Public bug reported:

Tapping is always disabled when I login.
I am able to select my user by tapping at gdm login screen but it won't work
once the desktop shows up.
Horizontal scrolling on the other hand doesn't work at all, even when its
enabled in Systen > Preferences > Touchpad
Also, tapping gets disabled when I unplug a usb mouse

I'm using a Compaq CQ50-106AU
