The point of my report wasn't the rant but the proposal. I apologize if this is not the proper forum for such a thing. Please, let me know where to do it.
Pardon for the repetition but the point is: "In brief, what I think is needed (critical) is some kind of centralized effort and dedicated resources from Ubuntu/Canonical to work with upstream to solve this problems. Centralize compatibility bugs, detailed problems with example documents, developers working exclusively in this area, etc. A project in the line of Hundred Papercuts but focused on Office Papercuts would be extraordinarily useful, could represent a big change for a lot of users and lower the switching bar for more." The fact that it is well known that a problem exists doesn't make it reasonable. Particularly when the problem is a CRITICAL problem affecting almost ALL the Ubuntu (and Linux) users and it's affecting the mainstream adoption of the OS. I will as a personal level do all I can, but in such an important aspect I think there should be a centralized effort. -- Compatibility/Format problems of OpenOffice are overwhelming - Office Papercuts project? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406328 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
