"If people want bigger icons than there is already a preference in Nautilus; if that is not discoverable enough it might help to add zoom in/out/normal options to the context-menu for the Desktop."
So, you want to replace "Stretch/Restore" in the context menu with "Zoom in/out/normal"? What does that gain? Also - a typical use case for stretching icons - I might have several files on the desktop. If I go away for lunch, I can enlarge the one I was working on so that when I come back, I'm reminded of the file I was working on and can easily find it and go straight to it again - rather than searching around for the file or just forgetting about it. I'm going to close this bug as the idea hasn't been thought through enough really, and Andrew has already made it clear that such a change will never be accepted upstream. Please feel free to reopen it if you can suggest a suitable replacement of the functionality. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- Don't show "Stretch Icon..." in context-menus by default https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407698 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
