Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: debian-installer

Trying to build a desktop which also serves as a back-up device I wish
to build a config with a 140Gb disc containing swap, root and /home
along with 2x500Gb discs serving as a RAID 1 device on which to run a
Samba server.

All versions of the Alternate CD tried allow me to configure the drives
and carry out partitioning OK.

Installing the system fails due to (repeated claims of) inability to
debootstrap the packages, beginning with the AMD64 base - I think -
forgive me, I've never reported a bug before!

** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
