Hi, I have HP Pavillion dv6000 series and having the same issue. From the observation I could tell my wifi woke up two times after 2 kernel updates. However, next day (and reboot) it was dead again. The card is not detected at all.
I was quite looking forward to next kernel update to check if it wakes up again, but in the last time it remained dead. This bug indeed exists and should be sorted out :-/ As I'm no guru into kernel, I plugged wire at the moment and will watch this bug-thread for some further ideas.. Good luck.
