This is not always possible, my client have heavy custom debian
repository full of packages coming from different source. Some are
proprietary and some desktop computer does not support 64bit. The
repository will stay 32bit for at least an other 5 years. A 8 thread
limit is too low even for newer workstation with 2 Quad core (Xeon) * 2
(hyper threading). This limit need to be raised to 32 or 64, we don't
talk about server here, but every day workstations. This bug can't be a
Wont-Fix, other distributions like Red-Hat offer bigSMP kernel.
