Hyperthreading is turned on by default in the BIOS. When I booted back, the netbook interface was available, WITH the classic was also visible in the background. I easily reverted to the classic look. Now, though the 'compiz' toolbar which looks like the OS/X toolbar is now on the desktop behind the bottom launcher.
