Public bug reported: Small thingy, but when having multiple user accounts, since karmic the privilege granting window requires you to first select which 'admin' user you actually want to use for this action. For an action that is so frequent, this is an waste of clicks. In my opinion the window should at least preselect the current user, esp. if he is an admin, since chances are very small you would want to use someone else's credentials.
That said, there seems to be no way to remember authorisations for the cpu frequency scaling applet anymore (not sure if there used to be a way for this). Isn't this something that should be unlocked at login? $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch) Release: 9.10 $ apt-cache policy gnome-panel gnome-panel: Installed: 1:2.27.4-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 1:2.27.4-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 1:2.27.4-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status $ apt-cache policy gksu gksu: Installed: 2.0.2-2ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.0.2-2ubuntu1 Version table: *** 2.0.2-2ubuntu1 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: gksu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Privilege granting is much more annoying in Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411118 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
