Glad to see you're still paying attention to these USB cellphone issues, Leann. I've searched far and wide for a solution to this problem and have found nothing so far.
I have an unlocked GSM LG MG810. (http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/LG- MG810-phone-p_1529.html) Using Windows, it mounts as a USB mass-storage device. Running Kubuntu 9.04 with 2.6.28-11-generic, I get this sequence in /var/log/messages: Aug 11 11:01:21 office kernel: [11706.316554] usb 1-1.4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Aug 11 11:01:21 office kernel: [11706.380180] scsi3 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.380827] scsi 3:0:0:0: Direct-Access CL HERA USB MASS STORAGE 1.10 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.386959] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] 253056 512-byte hardware sectors: (129 MB/123MiB) Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.387688] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] Write Protect is off Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.441817] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] 253056 512-byte hardware sectors: (129 MB/123MiB) Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.442841] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] Write Protect is off Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.442865] sdd: Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.449605] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] Attached SCSI removable disk Aug 11 11:01:26 office kernel: [11711.449767] sd 3:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg4 type 0 Aug 11 11:01:57 office kernel: [11742.084365] usb 1-1.4: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 Aug 11 11:02:07 office kernel: [11752.260125] usb 1-1.4: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 Aug 11 11:02:07 office kernel: [11752.428208] usb 1-1.4: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 Aug 11 11:02:17 office kernel: [11762.592194] usb 1-1.4: reset full speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 Aug 11 11:02:17 office kernel: [11762.685531] sd 3:0:0:0: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery Aug 11 11:02:17 office kernel: [11762.685561] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] Result: hostbyte=DID_ABORT driverbyte=DRIVER_OK,SUGGEST_OK Aug 11 11:02:17 office kernel: [11762.685575] __ratelimit: 44 callbacks suppressed Aug 11 11:02:17 office kernel: [11762.685855] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] Result: hostbyte=DID_NO_CONNECT driverbyte=DRIVER_OK,SUGGEST_OK lsusb -vv returns: Bus 001 Device 005: ID 1004:6018 LG Electronics, Inc. I've tried this with four different computers of various vintages, all running Kubuntu 9.0.4, with no success. I'll give karmic a try when I get a chance. -- don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363329 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
