I can now reproduce the bug at will. I boot my Ubuntu system, login as my user, start a simple gnome-terminal and perform an rsync which tries to send a file from my laptop to my home server.
The machine hangs up, solid. The display and the keyboard do not respond and I have to perform a hard reset. Maybe I could remotely connect to it, but I currently do not have the environment to perform this test. Nothing shows up in syslog. I think the problem is related with network activity. In the forums, many notice that the problem occurred when running Firefox. I could configure my installation with debugging probes if someone is willing to instruct me how to do this. -- hangups https://launchpad.net/bugs/59857 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
