I'm seeing this too with the latest Adobe x86_64 plugin (10.0 r32). As
workarounds I can disable the Flash plugin using the Tools->Add-ons
Disable button, or configure Flashblock to not allow gmail to use Flash,
and then it starts without crashing.

I have noticed that the crash happens when gmail is bringing up the chat
window; that's probably where it's trying out Flash, which Gmail uses
for their live chat feature (but has never worked on Linux anyway).
