** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: firefox

I installed ubuntu 9.04 in French on my computer.
When i wanted to upgrade firefox to 3.5 version, using Synaptic, the only
version I've able to install is a US-only version, on which it is impossible to
install any localized language pack (ie langpackXX.xpi file).
I do not understand as when i go to mozilla.org site, it says me I should
download and install the French version.
Why Ubuntu is not able to just do that ?

  Regards,
  Olivier

+ WORKAROUND (MEDIUM RISK):
+ for the current release u can just use the xpi from
http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.5/linux-i686/xpi/
+ NOTE: This might cause support issues later on if you forget to uninstall the
upstream xpi before upgrading to Karmic. You will be stuck with an old
language pack in your profile.
