Hi, I have Kubuntu 9.10 x64 on HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop with NVIDIA driver v190.18. Did update several days ago (I do updates every other day). After reboot I can see only black screen and cursor.
Actually, changing compositing to false in ~/.kde/share/config/kwinrc helped.
