Thank you for trying to help making Ubuntu better by reporting this bug. I'm not sure this is a bug in the Indicator Applet. Did you add the applet to your panel? Just installing it isn't enough.
According to the changelog of gnome-panel 1:2.26.2-1ubuntu1[1] the applet should have been added to existing installations on upgrade. This could have went wrong. If you do have the applet on your panel we'll need to investigate this bug further. If it is a bug in the Indicator Applet an output of running 'gnome-panel --debug' in the console would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
