Hi all, Karmic 2.6.31-5 Kernel: still loud beep.
Beep only happens when: 1. Grub's menu list has entry: # defoptions=splash=quiet 2. The nvidia module is installed If one of the above options does not match, no beep here. The installed nvidia module causes also a white screen before shutting down.
