Hey I just downloaded and tried the latest version of karmic. This means that it was the alpha 4. And the same thing happened that happened when I tried to install this as what happened when I tried to install 9.04. The live cd looks like it is going to load so it asks what language you want to use. And then it goes to the main menu and when you choose live cd it looks like it is loading. But then it takes forever and eventually it will go to a black screen saying that it couldn't load. I don't remember the exact error message and if you need it then I can certainly provide it.
