I tested the patched kernel from Colin (comment 178), and it solved the
problem I had on a Compaq mini 700 EF running UNR (before that, I would
get audio from speakers right after boot, but no longer after
plugging/unplugging headphones in the audio jack, and it would come back
after a suspend-to-ram/resume). FWIW the first lines of
/proc/asound/card0/codec#0 match with what was expected:

Codec: IDT 92HD75B2X5
Address: 0
Vendor Id: 0x111d7608
Subsystem Id: 0x103c361a
Revision Id: 0x100102

Now I just hope the fix quickly makes it in an Ubuntu kernel update,
because the Gnome package manager keeps bugging me, telling that there
is a 2.6.28-14.47 available (official deb collides with Colin's).

Thanks for the great job!
