Confirmed in kubuntu alpha4 installer - at bottom of syslog we get:

kubuntu-desktpo: Depends: ttf-bitstream-vera but it is not installable
A quick glance at packages shows that kubuntu-desktop has this as a
valid dep but it's unavailable for install in the repos. It is, however,
included on the ISO.
