It's not possible for me, to pick up the discussion in the MOTU mailing list. Probably because I'm not a MOTU myself. I can only post by sending an e-mail to the janitor. That way, I can't react in a topic thread.
The MOTU's aren't responding. I'm running out of options here... Much to my dismay. :-( For the time being, I have to conclude that openSUSE 11.1 (which does update Sun Java JRE) is a safer distro to advise to other people, than Ubuntu.
