Hi, i have a similar problem : no sound throught hdmi.
I have Jaunty on a hp dv 2700 with 8400M GS, Conexant CX20561 and : 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) (this point seems to be different from Renard) I have installed the latest nvidia driver (190.18.03) to enable sound over hdmi but it didn't worked.
