Hi,
This problem was resolved the other day, I'd actually read somewhere about
running update manager in terminal so after Ubuntu started up (after running
it's scheduled scan) it worked and seems to have fixed itself!
There was about a week's worth of updates, so once it had installed it was
working great.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Jon

Subject: [Bug 416103] Re: Update Manager freezes.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Could you please open it in a terminal window and let me know if it prints
anything to the terminal
(open e.g. gnome-terminal and then type: "update-manager")

** Changed in: update-manager (Ubuntu)

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
Binary package hint: yelp

Update Manager in Jaunty simply freezes up. I can't close it, I can't restart
it and if I restart Jaunty (9.04) it comes up and then freezes up. I've got it
set to automatically start with Ubuntu, so if there are any updates it prompts
for authorisation to install. I can't change the settings in 'Software Sources'
as this freezes up too.
Any help appreciated.
