I am affected by this bug too I'll try and fill you in as much as I can... [About my Os]
I am using Ubuntu 6.10 on x86 architecture. [About my graphics card...] Graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 5500 The chip is AGP 4x based I had difficulty manually enabling the graphics driver so I used a script called "Envy". Link : http://albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html [To reproduce this error...] 1) Follow install instructions from beryl wiki as of 02/03/2007 Tile:"Install Beryl on Ubuntu Edgy with AIGLX" Link: http://wiki.beryl-project.org/wiki/Install_Beryl_on_Ubuntu_Edgy_with_AIGLX 2) Typed in "beryl-manager" Note: I also followed instructions reguarding installing beryl on xgl. By typing "beryl-manager" in the commandline within an xgl session, the application crashes without taking x windows with it. here is the output of the xgl session... ************************************************************** * Beryl system compatiblity check * ************************************************************** Detected xserver : XGL Checking Display :1.0 ...
