I tried a wired connection during the whole weekend, and my rsync worked fine, without any hangup.
The bug is probably within the wireless module. Notice that I am not using the standard N610c wireless card, but a 3rd party card, so I guess that the problem is generic to all wireless cards, not only the one sold by HP for this particular laptop model. Any further instructions to debug this further? Which module would be the culprit?
