Marc, you are probably right that this is a better time to get this bug fixed than after the release has been made. Your suggestion to try this in a VM is not workable (I think) because the problem lies with specific hardware support. I doubt that there is any VM that virtualizes the cle266 graphics hardware.
So to try this I would need to find some time when the frontend is not in use (which is not all that easy). I will try to do so in the near future. Do you advise to try this on the latest released version (9.04) or on the currently developed one (9.10).
