The same problem here too, but no where near minutes. The "[minimal BASH-like..." message, which before the last grub-pc update would only flash by in half a second, now stays up for eleven seconds with constant noises from the hard drive. After the boot menu comes up everything appears to work normally (or perhaps there is a very slight delay for the actual boot to start after I hit enter, but that may just be in my imagination).
