I tried this workaround, but it does not work for me. To be precise, I tried: resume from suspend, then switch to an unused console, log in and do 'startx -- :1'. That indeed presents me with an X session which has a working touchpad scroll. However, switching back to the original X session, I still do not have the scroll features back.
