Hi,

6.10

The bug may have something to do with the audio drivers overloading the
CPU. I noticed that upon upgrading Ubuntu to Kubuntu (using Synaptic to
install kubuntu-desktop), the first time I logged in, the system hung
for about 15 - 20 seconds, then was fine. Afterwards, I kept receiving a
message box saying that the sound driver was hogging CPU.

I performed the following command as "root":

echo "options snd-via82xx dxs_support=2" | sudo tee -a
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base

After rebooting, the pop-up message box no longer appears. Of course,
this might not be the problem at all, but a red herring.
