Package version: Apt-cacher version 1.6.7ubuntu4 lsb_release -rd : Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 Contents of /etc/apt/apt.conf : Acquire::http::Proxy "http://192.168.0.100:3142/apt-cacher/"; apt-get update produces the following on some lines: Err http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/restricted Translation-en_GB Error reading from server - read (104 Connection reset by peer) W: Failed to fetch http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jaunty-updates/restricted/i18n/Translation-en_GB.bz2 Error reading from server - read (104 Connection reset by peer) E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead. This results in not being able to complete updates. replacing the Ubuntu version with the Debian version (apt- cacher_1.6.4_all.deb) works fine for me. I'm willing to do more digging if required. I've used apt-cacher for years & find it very useful. Many thanks. ** Affects: apt-cacher (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Error reading from server - read (104 Connection reset by peer) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/423340 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
