Hi Leann, I just installed the karmic package linux-image-2.6.31-9-generic. Booting it led to a blank screen, but that's probably because I forgot to disable kernel modesetting. I'll try that again.
Also, I am attaching a syslog of a typical freeze. I don't see anything unusual before the freeze, so I am only including the output of Alt-SysRq-Q,W,M after/during the freeze.
