Typically I use the following to get everything back operational.
Code:

cd ~/madwifi_ar5007
cd madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r4068-20090705
make clean
make
sudo modprobe ath_pci
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

Any help would be appreciated.
