Hi! Actually I am using Ubuntu 9.04 and since I am using 9.04 version my samsung works very well.
If you allow me let me report some other aspects that I believe could be improved. The ZTE USB 3G modem does not work very well, I had the some problem that I had with my samsung. I am talking about Ubuntu 9.04. Other problem I detected is if you put an 3G modem device connected with Ubuntu for the first time, the wizard opens, you configure the device and everything stays working fine. But you try to connect other different 3G device, a second time, the wizard does not popup, so I have to configure by hand. For example: I had a HAWEII 3G USB with connects to VODAFONE network, and I have my samsung that connects to TMN network. TMN and Vodafone are both different 3G data providers. So the wizard will only pop up for the first USB device you connect. This could be a problem for people who are not very comfortable with computers or linux and just want things out of the box. Ubuntu and Linux Kernel are great and working every version better. I had already installed lots of Ubuntu on notebooks and desktops of friends, who want to give a try on Ubuntu. So I just have to thank you for your great and fantastic work. User friendly is the key, and with that Linux are getting lots of non technical users to use Ubuntu Linux and their applications every day more. Thanks!
