Public bug reported: Tobin Davis: When I try to plug in either a DM9601 based usb-nic or a Pegasus based usb-nic, I get "Error reading MAC address", and then the system fails to recognize any new usb devices from that point on. Tried plugging in a usb thumb drive to record dmesg output and uname output, but the drive is not recognized until I reboot (if I have already tried adding the nic).
uname -r reports 2.6.31-100-imx51. The image is from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/daily-live/20090830.1/karmic-desktop-armel+imx51.img I currently have no networking support still on the babbage 2.5 system, and finding usb-nics with a working chipset is next to impossible locally (even Fry's only had one Pegasus based usb-nic in stock and nothing else). Both pegasus and dm9601 nics work with the UNR i386 image from the same build date. ** Affects: linux-fsl-imx51 (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Affects: linux-fsl-imx51 (Ubuntu Karmic) Importance: High Status: New ** Tags: armel ** Also affects: linux-fsl-imx51 (Ubuntu Karmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux-fsl-imx51 (Ubuntu Karmic) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: linux-fsl-imx51 (Ubuntu Karmic) Milestone: None => karmic-alpha-6 ** Tags added: armel -- DM9601 or Pegasus based USB NICs dont find their MAC address under 2.6.31-100-imx51 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424400 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
