as i wrote earlier if the system is not in the built in sata disk and the disk removed, the system reboots. i found, the problem is when the sata disk handled by the ahci driver. if the sata disk handled by the ata_generic driver, the system reboots. so if the system loads ata_generic before ahci. the all_generic_ide=1 parameter important. i resolve the problem in this way: # echo ata_generic all_generic_ide=1 >> /etc/initramfs-tools/modules # update-initramfs -u i use lenny but maybe it helps
