I too have this problem but it happened after doing recently updates on Hardy (previous posts are dated on 2008-02 but in my situation the issue happened some weeks ago, and seeing that my system was always updated this means that there were other patches that cuased this.). The workaround proposed by Kjell Braden solves the issue (I found in the web other people that suggested this) but it remains a workaround. I think marking it as "invalid" is wrong: if we consider that on Jaunty or karmic this issue doesn't happen we should mark it, at least, as "fix released" but we should be sure about it.
