It seems to me to be the same so I marked it as a duplicate. Here is a
quick repeat of the explanation how to workaround the issue:

1. Try to figure out if your screen is locked by moving the cursor across the 
screen and watching it shape - if the screen is locked you should get an I-Beam 
cursor only at about the middle of the screen. If this is the case type your 
password and hit ENTER to release the lock.
2. hit ALT-F2 to bring up the run dialog (you won't see anything happening but 
it will work) and then type "compiz --replace" (without the quotes) and hit 
ENTER. Your screen should take a few seconds to refresh the display with a new 
not broken compiz.
