I have the same problem. I'm running kubuntu jaunty on a lenovo x60 tablet. My mouse looks like this: Bus 004 Device 004: ID 0458:0007 KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems)
Often (but not always) when I plug in my mouse, I can see in my syslog that the mouse has been connected, but not detected as a mouse: kernel: [ 479.236066] usb 2-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 2 kernel: [ 479.409619] usb 2-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice ..but if I disconnect and reconnect the mouse several times (or run lsusb) then eventually it will be fully configured: kernel: [ 812.728090] usb 4-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4 kernel: [ 812.901256] usb 4-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice kernel: [ 813.030580] usbcore: registered new interface driver hiddev kernel: [ 813.043653] input: KYE USB MOUSE as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.2/usb4/4-1/4-1:1.0/input/input9 kernel: [ 813.045150] generic-usb 0003:0458:0007.0001: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [KYE USB MOUSE] on usb-0000:00:1d.2-1/input0 kernel: [ 813.045182] usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid kernel: [ 813.045188] usbhid: v2.6:USB HID core driver -- usb mouse inactive until i run lsusb https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/299288 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
